Anyone boat there?
What's it cost to get in, what do they check for, any spots to hang out, how's the drive there?

Usually windy in the afternoon and lots of grass to deal with.  Speed and sound limits more strictly enforced than Elsinore for sure but not crazy.  I would think the drive would suck unless you go up the 18 (then it will only suck for halfway up).   But the elevation will turn a 600 HP boat into a 250 HP boat and you better be prepared to re-jet or blubber like a schoolboy.
Even with all that said, everyone should do it once or twice.  Just sitting in the sun, on the water, smelling the pines, is what living is all about.   The ride home will be tough on you brakes though, plan accordingly.   And I'm not sure about a mussel inspection.

I go there often
The drive isn't bad the back way from lucernce.
35 for the day
Best to launch from the west launch ramp in Fawnskin
Quagga inspection in full effect
Make sure your dry
however the staff will work with you to get you on the water
No where near as bad as Silverwood or Perris

I found that running lower octane helps with the altitude
Temps are always in the mid eighties in the summer
I never had problems with patrol even when making a hot pass. They are more concerned with safety and private property
Plus you can float all night

I used to live there- for 7 years, had the boat on Big Bear lake only a handful of times. I always towed my barge to the river, both hwy 18 thru Lucerne Valley, and down hwy 38 to Mentone/Yucipa/Redands. Weekday afternoons were quiet and relaxing, But MWD was usually out there.

Sailboats think they have the right of way...even if your not moving.

I've never heard of there being any kind of draw to that place so I've never considered it.

Wasn't RUNNING or moving, just enjoying some boat sodas...

Try that in Big Bear lake, you'll likely have 2 smaller and leaky jet boat pieces...

Yeah, I hear you. Rich A-holes.... I always wanted to mount a fake mini gun to the deck of a power boat and just point it at them to see if you could actually hear the poop leave their crew shorts....

You got to get over that and make it to Lake Tahoe at least once.  I also want to do the Big Bear thing at least once.  I hear the thing to do is to split a cabin for a week with some friends.

I know a lady that has a pretty nice cabin....

We go up every year around october/november. We have a timeshare there at Lagonita Lodge.

If you arent dry they will work with you to get on the water, either spray Vinegar in the bilge, or worse case pressure wash you off.

I believe it was 35/day im not sure because i paid for a week permit last year

this year we are going later so they wont have the slips in at our condos but i still plan to put the boat in, do some fishin and some beer drinkin one day

Hit me up, we can meet up there. Its an easy tow for me, i just use the trans coming down the hill. (i have no trailer brakes)
