Trying a new (to me) flavor Ă  la Don Zig.  Engine ran best with 39 degrees total, 22 of which was mechanical advance.  I don’t remember the curve RPM.  This time, will be trying approximately 10 degrees advance, all in by 1,000 RPM.

The Idea is that with hard blower surge up to about 2800 RPM, the timing is just bouncing all over the place.  This will give it just a little retard while on the starter, then act like it is locked out.

If I don’t like it, I can always go back to mint chip.
