True confession time. 
Back in the mid eighties I was that guy. 

I had friends who had property on Lake Elsinore, probably about 50 yards or more of lake frontage, all sand beach.  I had watched many people put boats in and out.   One day I decided to do it when no one was home and it was just me and my girlfriend and I probably mid week or off season and breezy like everyday at Elsie.
Long story short I floated the back of my Toyota XtraCab, had water coming in the cab from under the doors and thru some holes in the floor where I had mounted and stereo amp.   Because no one else was around I finally had to flag down a neighbor who was dragging his beach with a tractor.  About the time we were draining out the cab my friends show up and tell me that I used the only section of beach that isnt really hardpack under the water.  Where I put in "used to always be the horse corral during the dry years, so yeah its kinda gooey mud when the lake is up."
