Happy birthday SoCal jet boats, in the two years that I have been a member I have learned so much from everyone and accomplished completely restoring my 79 Nordic. Great place, with a lot of great people, can't wait to learn even more and meet even more members. Thanks Brad for all your hard work!

These pics are from my the first SCJB event that my dad and I attended. After purchasing my first boat, a '73 Southwind 18' I stumbled across the forum. New to jet boats, I began reading and trying to learn anything I could about the boat. This forum was not like the rest. This group is tight-knit and full of knowledge. On top of that several members are willing to help strangers simply because of a shared love of boating. 

When I saw the thread for the Oct 2012 trip I knew we had to go.  Friday afternoon we rolled into the secured parking area of the AVI. The weather turned ugly so we all took shelter underneath an EZ-up. That is where several members introduced themselves and made my dad and I feel right at home. We shared a couple beers and laughs as the storm made its way past. Once the sun peeked through the clouds a few of us launched our boats for a quick run.

The rest of the weekend was a blur of apple pie, fireball, Lazy Harry's, and parking lot debauchery.  We were hooked! Since then I've attended every event that my schedule and wallet allowed. Brad, you created something special.  Happy Bday SCJB.
