The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

I don't even work for the State yet... but I agree that he is making a BIG mistake with this tactic.  I wrote his office a letter and recommend you and everyone you can get  do the same.  I assure you if they get enough it makes a difference.  When I was working in State Assemblyman Martin Garrick's office I got to see first hand that the letters will get to him if there are enough.  If he wants to get the budget passed on time just give those who are fighting about a line or word in some obscure area of special intrerest the min. wage and add a large fine for every day past the deadline that the budget is late.  If they can't get their job done on time why should they get paid?  State employees already make less than comprable public sector jobs and then to punish them for something that is beyond their control is NOT how a good leader should makes decisions.  Want to cut some $$ out of the budget how about giving the prisoners military MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat)  It's good enough for the men defending our country.  Instead we have them eating 100 times better cafeteria food at about 10 times the cost.  Sorry for the rant.  I just got a degree in public administration and find this decision disgusting.

Actually the prisoners eat absolute shit, trust me I see their meals, we feed inmates on $2.50 a day (approx) per inmate, you can't buy shit for $2.50 a day.  As for this being Arnold's fault, it's not, it's a hand he was dealt and he had to play it since the fuckwads in Sacto can't seem to do anything that doesn't benefit them. What dept of the state are you going to work for? Please don't say CDCR

As far as Arnold's decision I don't understand why he didn't just not pay the State employees like before rather than cutting their wages.

Stay away from the Q (cost of living is seriously idiotic) KVSP is a new inst. I have only heard good things about it, Coalinga, well, let's see, If they tripled my salary, I would think about going there. Good luck on the hunt.

Your supervisor must have liked you! I pay my guys $.24 an hour.  If they're skilled, show up everyday, work like a man and have a good attitude, I'll bump them to $.36 an hour.
