so I'm going to get a cam ground and what are some good profiles to help with the horsepower in the motor that's going to run 42 4600 rpmI would like to have grumpy sound but more than that I would like better performance I am going to change the spring and the valves in the head and  push rods so I can do pretty much what I want with the cam it is a stock big block Ford 429 20 over dove block D3 heads

Lo says im about 8.8 8.9 to 1I would like to do dove heads and get 10 to 1 after a little time. As far as roller i asked about it too just dont know which way to go yet

Hydraulic roller is really nice and trouble free.  Good power and no adjusting valves.

I would try to get your lift up around .700 while keeping your @.050 duration in the lower mid 220s.

I have been taking an unofficial pole of lobe center lines of the better running NJBA jets competing in the 9.0, 8.0, and faster.  Trends indicate wider center lines that range from 114-120.  Personally I have always run 108 and 106.  To me, the wider center lines sound funny,  but it is hard to argue with time slips.  If you are compression challenged, the wider center lines will help build cylinder pressure.

And when doing it with the camshaft, will lessen the potential of detonation (pre-ignition).

Also you simply cannot run wet exhaust, especially with mufflers with wide lobe centers, something to keep in mind.

OT headers, I normally run them dry, but occasionally I'll put the water to them, but I have a valve that I control to regulate water to the headers.... Regardless it's very minimal water, just enough so if the cop boats are watching, there is a little bit of steam coming out...... The running rule that everyone says is that, when running a jet, you shouldn't run too far from 108 lc, but I always like to challenge the status quo.... If I'm wrong it's only money

I run Bassett 0T headers and I have a gate valve that I'm going to put in the floor right in between  my legs on the floor so I control the water flow
