Can you cut Bassett headers?

Ok i hate the big bell on the end of the bassetts and want to cut it off. Can it be done and how? and can i still get silencers for it ?

I'm not sure about the silencers fitting once you cut them, but you can cut the bell of, just be sure and do it with a bandsaw if you want a straight cut.

We do it all the time ,in fact so do the manufacturers (somtimes) Masking tape (to protect the chrome) and a "cut off" Wheel Presto ! as long as you leave enough length silencers will fit Make sure to measure twice cut once ,most headers are "adjusted for head spaceing (one heads ahead of the other) Tom

I cut these off a few weeks back

It is a pritty easy procedure, pick up the phone and call me, I can do it for you or guide you on doing it.

I cut mine as well. Looks so much better. Then just re-drill your hole for the baffels.

Jims right 2 sav If ypu want to send them (or bring them to bakes next week) i'll do it for free but just measure mark tape around the cut off point and "whack" any good muffler shop should be able to do it Tom

One way I have heard of "tuneing" the exhaust is to put a strip of flat white paint on the collector, I've heard of masking tape as well, and where the paint burnes off to is where you cut. You see some boats that have blued headers and it seams to stop half way down the collecter, cut her there..... Just what I've heard
