Couple questions regarding my new boat.
« on: July 25, 2012, 06:50:21 PM »
Hi, im new to this forum and to the whole jetboat scene as well. I recently bought a 73 challenger with a 455 motor freshly rebuilt. I bought the boat working condition but I could tell the PO had charged the battery before showing me. recently i tried starting it and the battery was dead (i had disconnected the terminals after buying it). I replaced the battery but the boat still wont start. It doesn't crank but i can hear the starter clicking. Does anybody know what some possible causes may be. any info will help.

Also wanted to know where i can buy those chrome carb scoops and what are those things called that people add ontop of the jet drive that makes the water shoot out far. (i know these may be stupid questions but like i said im knew to the whole boat scene.

Welcome to SCJB  ;D

and what are those things called that people add ontop of the jet drive that makes the water shoot out far.

What you are looking for is a "Place Diverter" adjustable nozzle.  What jet you have will determine if you can install one.

Post some pics and we can help.

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

We still need to know more about the pump. Berkely bowls come in basically two types and the type of diverter depends on the type of bowl.  congrates on the new boat.
