Ellensburg Eliminator Introduction
« on: September 30, 2007, 12:05:29 PM »
Hello Everyone, we would like to introduce ourselves, Fred & Beverly Crunk of Ellensburg, Washington.  We are proud owners of a beautiful 1976 18’ Eliminator.  We live about 20 miles from Vantage Washington which is a beautiful boating spot on the Columbia River.

We found this boat last fall in California. The boat and jet drive were refurbished by Jet Boat Performance of Atascadero, California.  They do excellent work and are great folks!

The engine was built by Tom Manier and his son Josh ( Jet Boat Performance).   It is a BBC 454 bored 30 over, 9.5:1 compression, Comp HP Cam, Edlebrock dual tunnel ram, modified Holley 600’s, all stainless braided plumbing, 10 qt Dooley pan, MSD ignition, Rewarder Headers, and Dooley Air Scoop.  They did a beautiful job.

The pump is a fresh Berkeley 12JG with a Place Lift Kit (snoot and ride plate combo)  and Diverter.
An interesting fact about this boat is (after doing a little research by hull ID# etc.  I found out that in 1976, right off the production line, this was the personal boat of Bob Leach, founder and president of Eliminator Boats.  I got a call from him and he was extremely happy that the boat was still around and in such great shape.  We were invited to be their personal guests at the Eliminator Regatta at Lake Havasu last May.  We thanked him and politely declined.  Too far to drive!

The engine runs great.   It is not a “barnburner”, but does pretty well.  Taking the boat back to Tom at JBP the first of October and have some fairly extensive pump work done.  Should really improve performance.   Have a fantasy of one day having a “blower motor” for it.  Some pictures of the boat can be seen at Tom's last posting.  We will post some pictures of the boat as soon as we figure out how to do it!

Washington is a gorgous state. I spent a couple of months up there while I was in the Navy. Do you know which model of 18' Eliminator that you have? BBC and Berkeley: it doesn't get any better than that!  >:D

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
