so i went to napa yesterday to get custom battery cables made. after telling them what i want they make them up. it took about an hour and i went back to napa to pick them up. they want 175$ for battery cables does anyone else think this is a little steep.

i got a 12 ft a 10ft and a 9ft battery cable. they charged me like 5$ a foot.

here in ventura county napa is always  a few bucks more! a little too late, but you can build your own at west marine. they have the lugs and crimps. i bought maybe 40' and made a few 6 gauge cables and paid about 175.00 with lugs, a few years back.

today west marine is selling 6ga for 4.09 which is close to what i paid.

if you used 6 gauge than add napa's labor cost.

Sounds about right Tony. Welding lead works really well too. I used to have a 50' roll of 00 ground lead, must have made a bazillion cables out of it.

I have done this too, but careful, welding cable insulation is not oil resistant...Swells up like Quagmire at a bachelor party

any custom stereo shop should have big gauge wire for doing amp installs. nice flexible stranded wire for 1-2$ per foot
