I am thinking about buying a 2001 Yamaha LS2000 as a family boat, any opinions on these boats?

Prolly some lurkers out there with the newer hardware. maybe they will chime in. We tend to "slant" away from that in favour of classic 70's-90's American made money pits.......

I saw them getting bashed pretty hard over on RDP the other day.   I honestly looked long and hard at that top of the line 230.   The features on that thing are unbelievable for $32K.    I have heard that they are kinda sketchy at top speed, but who knows?   I am guessing that a little time on Google and a person could find several BBS sites that cater to the Yamaha crowd.
It would be interesting to see if one of those could pull my big butt out of the water.          It seems that an Olds can't . . .

In THAT case, I would think you could build a solid, reliable BBF or BBC, have it installed in your Tahiti, convert it to a Berk, if it's a Jacuzzi, and have said Berk (If it already has one GREAT!), solidly built for far less money than a Seadoo or Yamahammer would cost. Less, and easier maintenance as well, but that's just me.

Worked on that type of boat if the motors are two stroke stay away ,they have issues with crank seals going bad and sucking air causing hard starting and down on power also had fuel pickup issues ,its a fun boat but up keep can get costly  just my .02 if you want that kind of boat yamaha has a sx230 sr230 with twin pumps and two 140 horse four strokes that run at 10.000 rpm all day long great family boat lots of room and storage 23foot long and handles awsome   good luck
