« on: February 21, 2010, 01:08:09 PM »
Well, Being on the website for like a month has already ruined me.. Just bought my first jet boat yesterday. I can already see my bank account being negative from this damn thing! Thanks everyone for the help and pointers with the 200 questions that Iv asked already, and get ready for 200 more! Bought a 74 Sleekcraft. Its ready to rock as soon as I find a 454 to throw in her. Heres a few pictures! I just took em in the rain, so they look a little weird. Seats clean up like brand new!

While looking for an engine, don't be afraid to buy a complete boat, take the engine, then sell off the rest.  There are some good deals out there for complete boats that would cost less than building an engine by itself.

Yah, Names a sticker. Soon as the sun comes out, its gone! Iv noticed the complete boats for cheap. A better trailer wouldnt hurt either, this ones pretty ghetto.

Drop those trailer fenders today!     And I kinda like the name but I can see where if you are carrying wife and kids it might not be too appropriate.   Dunno if I would want it on my boat but I thought it was kinda catchy.    Looks like you are gonna have a nice floater on your hands.   Enjoy the ride!

Im not sure on the full story. The guy I bought it from ran it with a 455 and blew that up, then built a BBC that hes putting in his new boat. It was all redone in 05.. Carpet, interior, gauges, and the engine bay was sprayed with Rhino Lining. Custom truck shop from Fresno called KRZ Customs had it redone I believe. Looks to me like they used all House of Kolors paint. The whole hull that is white is full of blue pearl. Only picture I have of the engine bay is kinda messy still. Cant wait to clean her up! The guy said Tom at JBP went thru the pump and OKd it. Tom, was the guy full of it or do you remember the boat? He said you also built the 454 that was in it.

Noticing the plate under the throttle pedal makes me think the floor is toast....

Cool looking boat...I think with some wide lowered fenders and a little work, that trailer could be badass...

And 24" rims with spinners would be ghetto...LOL

Lots more Sleeks showing up these days! Good Score!

Looks like a Sleek Sportster. (should start with SLES on the HID, if I'm right). Hydraulic Diverter a real nice plus! Didn't know about that!! Yeah, the fenders are weird? Looks like someone put some different springs on trailer maybe?  :screwy: The whole thing sits a lil high to my eye.

Did you get the motor plates with it? 4 point mount, you should be able to drop in whatever you want! Congratulations!

Ray

The plate under the throttle, soft spot in the floor or just stripped holes? Not a major thing, just noticed it.

Edit, lol, Guess GT noticed that too.

The plate is on top of the carpet thats glued down pretty good. I can jump up and down on the floor and it doesnt flex. Any other way I can check it out without ripping up the carpet? The story goes.. when the boat was in the paint booth someone stole the trailer and they replaced it with this one. Theres already some surface rubs from the lack of inner fenders. I do have some extra 22s I could throw on the trailer  :D  Now that would be pimpin! I got plates with it for the BBC.

Your gonna think I lost my mind, but....Hit it with a small ball peen hammer all around the suspect areas, it should sound like a pool table surface if it is good, and like hitting a corpse if it's bad  :P (Actually sounds like hitting wet cardboard with a drum skin over it)..

Fingers crossed for ya.
