With personal safety aside, my wife at first was really against taking our kids when they were real young! We all have seen or know those a**holes out there that get drunk do and say stupid things and somehow( and sometimes to much delight) hurt themselves or worse somebody else! We have a great group of friends but not everybody understands what's cool and not cool around kids! I didn't realize it either till I had my own! So just to keep them out of certain environments we waited till they could understand what's right, wrong ,safe and unsafe at least enough for young kid! They love the boat and being on the water and I think I've nagged enough for her to understand its a part of life...may not be what the original question was about but that was our reason we waited...

i definitely agree with that and that's a great post my girl knows what to do and what not to do and if she's not sure she always asks me or mommy but when it comes to the water and the boat all eyes are on her safety it completely change the way of boating life for me when she is on there great advice

Well I have three beautiful daughters and we do not shelter them. Our oldest was at the volkswagen drags at 6 weeks then at a Chargers game at 2 months old and our youngest which is 5 weeks now is going to the lake Sunday with us. Our boat is pretty quite and rides smooth so we will see how it goes. I have been on the water since I was about two months and now work in the marine industry and love the water. I want don't want my children to be afraid of the water like so many people are. You as a parent know when it's too rough or loud so just be careful. Best of luck to you.
