FRANKEN FAN
« on: July 09, 2010, 09:32:34 PM »
Many of you do not know what it is an HAVC service technician does, or what I do, for a living...

Here is a snapshot of my day...

On a service call for a smoke smell and noise. . . (Gee, I wonder if those could be related LOL) I find this quagmire of a mess...

So I get on the horn and make some calls....Parts can't be had for at least two weeks... :banghead:

This fan serves some offices, but mostly labs, it has to run to keep the building pressures under control and harmful fumes and chemicals out of the occupied areas.

So I guess it's time to get resourceful.. :sly:

Pull it all apart and get to welding this focker up....

So a little love and viola!... should run killer for the few weeks of parts manufacturing time....

Anyways, I was glad to get this running, and it feels good to have your work recognized, the customer was blown away.

Nice job GT. I do HVAC at Ontario Airport and recognize what you were working on.
Was the fan spinning when you showed up?

Hey GT
I don't know anything about HVAC (except how to turn the thermostat so it comes on), but I am impressed with just about everything you can do and you say. If it was up to me, I'd double your pay and give you the next month as paid vacation. Keep up the good work.

Very creative. The funny thing is that the repair you did will probably suffice till that bearing fails again years to come. Don't let the owner see this post. ;D
