Gas Prices!!
« on: December 27, 2008, 12:35:23 PM »
It seemed everyone wanted to bitch and moan about the gas prices when they were over $4/gallon.......so lets hear it for the gas prices now!  ;D

I dont know about anywhere else, but ive seen it here in vegas as low as $1.55 a gallon.....and they are saying its going to stay at these low rates for awhile. This is extremely welcoming. there was a few times i recalled that it took over $100 to fill my truck...i filled it up the other day for LESS THEN $40!

i cant wait for summer to come....boating is going to be so much cheaper!

Hey Brad, the only problem now is you can't get the shit back in the horse, we've spent so much money on fuel and groceries and shipping, we can't afford to go anywhere now...Long term effects of screwing everyone around and making rediculous profits for a public utility...If our economy could run on bullshit and lies, we would be in good shape...Just about the time summer gets here we will be at war with another F-ed up third wourld with no values or sense of right to life.........

Sorry....rant over.

Yeah, you're probably right.. It's just frustrating how far some of the "controllers" let it go, I was watching the news on Wed. and they were talking about air quality in our area and that we were going to get fined if we don't bring our air quality up to their standards, yet at Fort Ord (an old Army base thats being used as a Cal state U campus) they were actually doing "slash and burn" trying to find un exploded ordinance from target practice areas on a "Spare the air" day, the ploom was maybe 3000 feet in the air.. I dunno, I think were being controlled by some of the dumbest people on earth, take our own local governments for example, they want to raise sales tax because they can't make their budget work, WTF is that all about? We have a bunch of programs that don't work in this economy, do you think those are being cut? hell no.

I could have told you two years ago this was coming, do you really think we need a Starbucks on every corner, or how about a Home Depot every ten miles, there are too many "Big box stores" and "outlets" for any economy..Gas prices IMHO started it, bad loans finished it, but no one did anything to slow it down...They are the ones asking for help and wanting to be bailed out, did "big oil" ask for any help? Better yet, did they offer up any help?

It's just the same old same old...Sorry to rant, but were surrounded by a bunch of "gimme more" people who don't give a crap about anyone but themselves....

It's been great filling up my truck with $40 .
It's been said for some time now that oil production is going to be cut by half so prices will come back up .
I think the only thing keeping it down is that nobody is working , therefore , nobody is driving .
Not to mention , lot's of folks trading there gas guzzler in for an economy car .
Thankfully the economy is correcting itself , unfortunaly at the cost of going down the toilet  :-\

I have to agree with GT. Here in Cali. our budget is not balanced, and I think it’s overdue by months. What is there job, and if it’s not getting done, what are they doing? If these people are the best we have, were F$%^ed. Not to mention the bone heads in Washington. They have to stop meddling with it. If the market was controllable, we would never have a recession, the economy would always grow. We all know that is not reality. The market cannot be manipulated. By the government, or anyone else. That is a fact, so to dump 700 billion (that’s 7000 millions) to try to “stimulate” the economy is never going to help.
The other joke is the price of diesel fuel. That stuff is a byproduct (it’s the waste) when you make gasoline. In 2000 when I bought my truck gas was at 1.65. Diesel was at 1.35 a gallon. This stuff should always cheaper. The most I paid was $198.00 to fill up, so to see the pump stop at 85.00 is very nice.

Haha, Sorry Brad, you are right, it's nice not having to leave a nut at the cashier to fill up, I just like pointing out how stupid we all are, like a bunch of sheep being herded by a wolf...

I remember when I was 17/18 in 1993 and I was paying .85-.89 a gallon in my 77 El Camino with a 22 gallon tank, and thinking how much $$$ that was then!

I wish for those prices again!

Back in '87-89 I was paying about $1.09 for 76 leaded premium for my 69 Camaro.
Then they went and dropped leaded fuel from the pumps  >:(

It is VERY nice having gas prices back down again, I've been waiting for this to come back. With a job like mine, depending on people driving, I would think business would be back up again.... the gas is cheaper than it has been in YEARS.... so people should be driving right? But somehow I'm still only pulling in a 1/3rd of what I made a year and a half ago, even with lower gas prices.... totally sucks

PW, it has been brought to my attention that there will be no "doom and gloom" on this thread, we have to keep a positive attitude and be thankful that we are no longer being screwed by an oil rig, please try and keep the sarcasm and negative posting to an absolute minimum  ;D ;D ;D
