Guns 2009
« on: February 27, 2009, 08:59:43 PM »
Got this From My Bro in law today Guys , check it out .... Tom

Please send this to everybody on your list

Have you got this in your scope?

Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House.
This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.

We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program.

Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar.

To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

•It is registered

•You are fingerprinted

•You supply a current Driver's License

•You supply your Social Security #

•You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing

•Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

•There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family - pass this along.

Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on KHOW 630 a.m. in the morning. He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action". Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs and especially the NRA.

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not.

If you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me. HR 45 only makes me/us less safe. After working with convicts for 26 years I know this bill, if passed, would make them happy and in less danger from their victims.

Oh I so agree Tom. Look at the test in proof. Washington DC, where it is ( or was) illegal to own any sort of firearm not registered, such as a machine gun is registered, prior to, I beleive, 1982. ( This has been recently revoked I think). But what happened? DC became the murder capital of the WORLD. Crooks knew no victims would be armed and had their way with whatever they wanted. Nearly double the car jackings than all of southern california, yeah, not a pretty sight.

Anyone who thinks the 2nd Amendment is antiquated and no longer has bearing needs to look at reality. While the 2nd was an insurance policy for the masses to overthrow just the same government we see today, it's more important to realize it guarantees the lawful citizen the right to self defense of life and liberty.

If you're daft enough to beleive it's the LAw Enforcement communities responsibility to do that, well, think again. On the side of nearly ever patrol car in the US says, "To Protect and Serve". That don't mean you and me. That means to Protect and serve the LAW! Nice to know they'll be all over investigating my murder, but will they prevent it? Nope, no law was broken until they did it.

Whell just be glad the new attorney general thinks that the second amendment does not give the right to bare arms. With this philosophy we’ll all be safe. (sarcasm) In Germany, in the 1940’s they did the same thing. If you owned a gun you had to register it. Them the government had a list to collect from. If you didn’t relinquish your guns, you had to sit in jail until the firearm was recovered.
The chipping away has started for socialized medicine also. The government is going to streamline the medical industry. That in it self is an oxymoron, “ government streamlining anything” Is the DMV streamline, is the IRS streamline, just to mention a few. The new stimulus package is going to automate the medical profession with the pretense of saving money. While automating, it will be regulated. The professionals and industry will be required to jump threw government hoops. This will screw the industry up. This is what happened in the Mortgage industry. Look where that’s gotten us.
The economy is in this shape because the government is medalling in it. If they would just leave it alone it would correct it self. It might be painful, but there would not be 1.5 trillion in NEW dept. The president says in one breath “We have to learn to live within our means”, in the next breath he says “We need the 800 billion dollar stimulus bill to save the economy” Which is it? If the country is in a hard spot because people over barrowed. Then how are we going to fix it by more barrowing form our future?

Need to talk to our members from Canada about the socialized medicine deal. What we have is OSHA breathing down everyones neck about safety. In Canada, because the gov't pays for most all medical expenses, their version of OSHA is like the SS from Nazi Germany. To the point that if you fart in a factory 6 hazmat teams and explosoves experts better be onhand to ensure no explosions can happen.

You think I'm kidding?  It's a wonder anything gets done in Canada at all in a plant or even a small shop. And yes, Canada ALSO has gone down the Reichstag path on gun ownership. Meaning, a little at first, and it starts with registration. Anyone ever read any translations of the Rechstag? (The Nazi German version of our Constitution). Amazingly similar to most of our own gun laws.

Look how that turned out for the German people back then. Particularly certain groups of them.

We are in deep shit if this gets any momentum.

Ray, I gotta jump in with a comment. Most cops want to serve and keep people think. There is what the executive level guys say and some go for gun control and that crap. The men and women who are on the street almost all believe that everyone should have a gun, and know how and when to use it. They don't make the laws...they enforce the ones they are given and told by you and everyone else out there who votes for the out of touch, uninformed, self promoting, money grubbing poiticians. Those cops who it is so easy to blame everything bad that happens on, are pretty much like everyone else, with a family, kids and their own opinions. Most of em would rather not investigate a murder or have to deal with law breakers after the fact. But the politicians and lawyers have created a system that they have to work in that makes it that way.

My point is, point the blame where it belongs. Not on the guys and gals who probably think more like "joe everybody" than not.

As to the gun conrol, taking away and registering/restricting guns has been such a grand succesful experiment everywhere they have done it (NOT!). YOu would think that these "do gooders" would learn from history. Not a freakin chance. They are going to save us from ourselves even if history will suggest it will destroy everything we believe in.

Oh, I'm not blaming them. Exact opposite, I applaud them. Their hands are tied, I understand that. My point is that the gun grabbers always try and make the point that only law enforcement should have access to firearms when the ONLY time they are allowed to use them is when THEIR life is in peril, or they happen to be witness to someone else's life in peril. Even then, they have to second guess themselves becuase they will be put on administrative leave, and possibly face the Grand Jury over such an incident. They ( the gun grabbers) ignore the average citizen, who needs to have the right to defend themselves when their lives, or are also witness to someone else's life, being in peril. The same people who preach this and sponser bills and stuff, have armed body guards protecting them, so basically they're saying FOCK YOU!

I can make this point by bringing up the Rosie O'Donnell ordeal. She was talking up Gun control and crap all over her talk show any other chance she got. Even outside of that, being seen with politicians sponsoring such restrictive legislation. While at the same time, I kid you not, she was BUYING a gun, AND applying for a license to carry for her own body guard. So that fat dyke feels it's OK for her, but not for anyone else??? Gimme a break.

All the real problems started when 2 Kennedy's were shot. In spite of the fact there were multiple people around them with automatic weapons to protect them. That's a good reason to infringe the rights of 250 million people to defend themselves, NOT!. Then it gathered tremendous steam when someones husband (Sarah Brady), happened to be hit by a kook with a hard on for Jodie Foster. Making Jim Brady a little more of a retard than he was before. You didn't see Reagan whining, did you?? Nope, only the Brady's.

Now it gets to the Nth level. What's "Osama bin President"  O0 gonna do. Already ammo is costing more than my car payment (Thank gawd I reload), and we have these sneaky actions that Tom was posting originally.

Here's an exerpt from todays NRA-ILA newsletter.....

"On Wednesday, just over five weeks after Inauguration Day, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the Obama Administration will seek to reinstate the expired federal "assault weapon" ban and impose additional restrictions.

"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder said. Based on Holder's testimony during his confirmation hearings before the Senate, those other "changes" presumably include prohibiting private transfers of firearms and banning most center-fire rifle ammunition as "armor-piercing."

Holder said that new gun control laws are needed because in Mexico, a country with a history of corruption and disregard for individual rights, there's a shooting war going on between drug gangs and government troops, and some of the gangsters' guns have been illegally purchased in the United States. "

Now we are being blamed for our friends down south shooting each other. :screwy:  Also, gun grabbers are now trying to include "pump-action" firearms as assault rifles.

A history lesson in gun control.

* "The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made so by the exertions of better men than himself"   John Stuart Mill
* "In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, Brave, Hated and Scorned.  When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot"   Mark Twain
I know we all are very much aware of the stats that supports the benefit of citizen ownership of guns, and this is just another clear cut example.  It's just amazing how liberals turn a blind eye to the obvious crime statistics associated with gun control.  Of course it just falls in line with their basic lack of common sense and inability to connect the dots.
'Never Underestimate the Power of Stupid People in Large Groups'

A Little Gun History Lesson

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
  ----------- --------- --------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control.  From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
------------ --------- ----
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminate
  ------------ --------- ---------
China established gun control in 1935.  From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and  exterminated.
  ------------ --------- -------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964.  From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
  ------------ --------- ---------
Uganda established gun control in 1970.  From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
  ------------ --------- ---------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956.  From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and  exterminated.
 ------------ --------- --------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
  ------------ --------- ---------
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own
government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:  Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.  Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
It will never happen here?  I bet the Aussies said that too!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY.  Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns..  The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind him of this history lesson

With Guns....... .. ....We Are 'Citizens'.

  Without Them.......  We Are 'Subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
Note:  Admiral Yamamoto who crafted the attack on Pearl Harbor had attended Harvard U 1919-1921 & was Naval Attaché to the U. S. 1925-28.

Most of our Navy was destroyed at Pearl Harbor & our Army had been deprived of funding & was ill prepared to defend the country.
It was reported that when asked why Japan did not follow up the Pearl Harbor

attack with an invasion of the U. S. Mainland, his reply was that he had lived in the U. S. & knew that almost all households had guns.
If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all your friends!

AND NEVER, NEVER, NEVER SURRENDER YOUR GUNS!!!

(With Guns....... .. ....We Are 'Citizens') :sly:

This is was sent to me via email , so if you have already read it......... Read it again ;)

Lol good load in a 454.  This one was originally a .44 Dan Wesson Supermag. It was converted to 5 shot .500 John Linebaugh Long by an old retired gunsmith back when I lived in Ohio (15 or so years ago). It will toss a 525 grain hard cast bullet at close to 1300fps. And punish you in the process. BADLY. Don't shoot it much these days, as brass for it has to be made from 358 Winchester, long discontinued. But still a hoot to do so at the local range. Anything moving in the world, within 250 yards or so, such as a Blackberry I shot a month or so ago at 225 yards, isn't safe with it. Locals get nervous when it goes off.

Funny story behind the Blackberry incident.

Oh, and I can switch hit between the barrel shroud with the scope or without. But anything over 75 yards or so, really need the scope, and a bench if over 100. Guess I'm getting old..... :banghead:

Honestly though, with the scope set up right for you, it is AMAZING how easy it is.

Used to Use mine for (plywood) "running deer" shoot  1250 fps with a 165 jhp ,  two shots in 100 yds at 100 yds away "on the nose" gives two in the body (if you can hold it) (nothing like a moving target !) , lots of fun , also a good "surface to Pig missle"  ;D

Back when I shot in the clubs, years ago, Tom, used to shoot all metal silouhettes(sp). KNock them over or spin them, whatever the station needed. Was all a 'Woods walk' shooting at metal targets, birds, bears, could be 20 yards or 200. used to get a check every couple of weeks for $300 or more. Paid my mortgage at the time back there. My wife loved it. 'Tis why I bought the first .357 Maximum Dan Wesson to begin with.

Combat shoots, well another matter as to why I went 10mm and am still a huge fan.

My dad a couple of years ago, took an 8 point whitetail, running away from him while he was in a treehouse, at 75 yards, with a gun I had bought him for his birthday (a .41 magnum Ruger Blackhawk), that he had never shot, nor had I. He was 60 at the time, and the gun was not sighted in.

Took it from the base of the skull. Deer dropped immediately.

I've always wanted to be as good as he is. He's done many a shot like that.
