help!!!!

well i took my boat out for the first time its a 78 kachina w a bbf460 the boat ran great all weekend and the last day i took it out i wasnt sucking no water in through the jet just seeing what the possible reasons of why this happened the motor was running but couldnt get it to take in water

Nothing uncommon.
I usually dunk mine a couple times to try and wash out any road debris in the pump.
After a few good splashes , the pump "should" fill up just fine.
Droops seem to make this problem more pronounced.
Back the boat in with the reverse gate in the open position and that should help.
Dont forget the obvious like lookin up into the jet also.
There might be something in there.
