Hello Everyone,
My name is Jason Turrey and I live in Merced, Ca. I am a contractor for installing satellite, Home Theater, Prewire homes etc. (If you need anything let me know fellow Jetters get cost+10%). Anyways in my day to day work i get to see a large variety of homes, income level, etc. Basically one day I can be in a million dollar home and the next I can be in the ghetto or an old broken down trailer park. Well I can say that animals are my soft spot and I rescue and try and care for as many sad/mean situations that I come across which in the Valley is quite a few lately. I have personally rescued 7 animals that live with me and about 20 in the last year that I have found great active, loving homes for. With a new baby my extra $$$ is a little less each month so it is a little harder when I take a rescue to the vet etc.
Well with the cold weather the fiance and I have come up with a great idea. I have seen alot of poor animals that are tied to a fence, old tire, etc, with no cover or an old nasty flea infeted blanket on the dirt and that is it. I can tell that these animals are treated aweful and left in the elements with no shelter. So my idea is that I am going to build dog houses and donate them to the hard cases I run across from time to time. I want to build well designed houses that keep them out of the wind and rain etc. I have looked at the basic dog house and I think they suck. The opening is wide open to the elements and offer very minimal wind or rain protection when it is really storming etc. I saw a great desing at Costco where the animal can actaully walk in and turn a small corner to get totally out of the wind and rain. So I am going to build a websight with my design ideas and a donation setup to help me buy materials etc. I have talked to a local contractor and they will give me left over siding and roofing materials to help with the costs. I will keep no money for myself unless I have to replace a tool etc. to build these. I would appreciate your ideas and if anyone knows a good cheap webdesigner that would be great. And design ideas and help would be awesome.
Thanks In Advance,
Jason
