have you guys had a spun out? i never have im sure the day will come when it happens and just hope i dont throw any one out the boat, ive grew up on the water raised with boats my hole life pracitcally. Parents have had 30 ft sport fisher and 60 ft yahts, driven them all. And suprisingly i still have no idea of how you even do a spin out? ive tried just by myself in my boat to do one just so i knew what it was like and to see if there was a way of correcting it if it happened when i had other people in the boat . but i never was able to spin it out. well at least not like a full 360 only a 180

Thats good cuz u dont wanna spin out!!!!

It happens sooo fast.. My dad was racing another boat at elsinore once and we were coming up to the end of the straight away and the other boat had cut in front of us forcing us to turn left quick and avoid hitting the other boat.. Before i could say " oh shit " i was thrown into the side of the boat, driver seat broke and my dad came flying at me, a huge wave came over and swamped the motor and shut us down!! Took a few mins to get her to fire up but long story short!! NO FUN !!!!

This summer in the same boat i was at needles and made a lil pass and slowed down to literaly 10 mph went to make a u turn and the back end felt super light and i looked back and i was doing a slow motion spion out... I even thought to my self am i really spining out ? lol Did a quick 180, put the bilge on and went back to shore.. My gf saw the spin out and was like " that was so cool, did u mean to do that " ? haha.. NOOOO i didnt mean to do that..

oh shit.. yea no it doesnt sound fun at all. and thats scary when you go flying out of the boat. so it sounds like as long as you don't make sharp turns your fine you wont spin out? is there any way of recovering a spin out like if you fell it start to happen whats the best way to stop it, foot off gas ? sometimes in some situations thats the worse thing todo. or try to over correct the boat could be bad to, is it just something you gotta go with and just hope to hell you dont go flying out ?

From my experience theres NO stopping a spin out once it starts.. Everyboat handles different.. So basicaly u gotta learn what ur boat can take, what it likes, what it doesnt, and at what speeds u can turn sharp.

yea i see what you mean.. but im guessing flat bottoms are easier to spin out on.. , i never once had a second guess about what it can or cant handle i know whats pushing it to far, and never will i take it to that extreme unless its just me in the boat . although ha i know my friends have had second guesses, but thats because i like having fun........ and scarying my friends a little bit. my boat doest have the "oh shit" handles

or anything to grasp onto really besides the sides of the boat and the seats and who ever is sitting next to you as long as the dont mind you grabbing on to them

With a jet boat the worst thing you can do is get off the gas. It can be difficult mentally to keep your foot "in it" but getting off the gas can be much more dangerous.

Obviously there are times when you won't have a choice (mowing down a person or another boat), but if you're just fighting a wake stay on the gas and let off when safe.

I spun out going over a parallel wake. It happened sooooo fast. The only thing that came to my mind when it happened was get moving asap. Your wake or a wave is alllways about to go right over your transom and its easier to manage when you're under way and not a sitting duck. I fired my boat up and floored it as a huge giant wake/spinout wave broke over my back. It was very scary and my gf went flying. Luckily we weren't tossed out as I was probably 3-3.5k when it happened.
