Close friend of the family has a 21 yr. old son in the Army. He was home on leave last week and his Mom was at our house when she gets a call from him. Let me backtrack just a second here. The previous day he had gone against his parents advice, and common sense as he was due back at Ft. Benning in less than a week, and bought a car. He got his CDL just a month before he went to basic training and his driving skills are downright scary. No one in the family will ride with him.
So he calls Momma and tells her that he has just rear ended someone, but there isn't much damage. OK "you know what to do right?" his Mom says. 20 minutes later he calls back and says all is fine. Mom does what Moms do and proceeds to tell him again what a dummy he is for buying this car blah blah blah.
Less than 2 hours later he calls back and tells her he has been in another accident, sideswiped an F-150. Now he is too shook up to drive and we have to go get him. Yup tire marks right up to the drivers window! That must have been an eye opener! At this point now his parents figure they better drive with him back to GA as he seems to think that he can make the drive himself in 41 hrs non-stop. He is a fantastic battlefield medic but frankly I don't understand why he is still alive.
