Interesting question, I don't know if there is a good answer though, if you think there is an issue with the pump, it takes almost nothing to take it apart and at least do an inspection and find out what you have for internal parts and clearances, 800 HP would neccesitate a stainless impeller at the least...

Sorry to hear about the broken stuff...

Assuming all is correct you Jet is like a water Dyno ,motor and Tach will pretty much tell the story example: "X" HP = "X" RPM = "X"  impeller cut , so a honest 500 hp motor making power to say 5200 will turn an "A" Berk type impeller around 5k, your numbers again assuming your motors running right will tell all. OEM alloy impellers are rated to 450 hp aft mkt aluminum are rated to 500+ or- . Re your jet (need to check and or O'haul) Will depend on what in it and what kind of power you motor makes (and where) All bets are off over 500hp IMO , time for an upgraded shaft and Bronze or stainless impeller at minimum. Happy to try to help call if you need coaching Tom

Called Berkley about a month ago. Rebuild kit from them is 450 bucks and that includes a new impellar. Just have to do the labor youself. Looking at probably 4-6 hours depending on if you know what you are doing or not. Just what I have been told.
