So I'm at Puddingstone on saturday testing the boats fuel system for leaks and correct pressure before i go to Lauvhlin next weekend. We were floating and swimming in the 12mph zone when the lifeguards told us we couldn't do so. So we take off to the other side of the lake to just cruise by th family beach are. As I'm getting ready to leave the area I made sure that i was past the buoys that designated the slow zone before i hit the go pedal. So i past then hit it. Here comes another yellow boat with red and blue lights flashing. He says i was still in the slow zone when got up to speed. HELL NO I WASN'T!  And he decided to also cite me for my CF numbers being too difficult to read. Anyone ever get a boat speeding ticket? How can i fight this? What are my chances? I have two other witnesses tbat were on the boat with me? Any advice? Is this like getting a regular speeding ticket? Will it be on my record? HELP! Thanks...

I hate Puddlestone for that shit too. I got pulled over within ten minutes of being there when I first bought my jet ski. Forget wtf  it was for but the lifegaurd guy on the yeller boat was acting like a major hard ass, showing off for the 16 yr old lifegaurd. It was a weekday and I was the ONLY one on the water.

My pop got a speeding ticket there back in '77 or '78, my brother was on a ski, and when he let go, he went into the NWZ, just inside the bouys, as there was a bunch of boat traffic behind him. Dunno how much that was, but it started our "going to the river" days, Havasu, Parker, and Mohave. (1961 c/20 chevy p/u w/6cyl, cab over camper, and 1974 18' eliminator, the good ol' days).

FWIW,  hull numbers have to be a contrasting color, (thats open to opinion ) and 3"

You have never been issued a license to drive a boat nor have you ever been to a training coarse that gives you a right to boat.

here's the story in short form.

my buddy got a dui on elsinore.
his lawyer fought the fact that he did not have a license to drive a boat and that there was no required test to pass to show he understood all the rules.
dui dismissed

so in your case, did you sign that you knew the rules? did the license you to drive on their lake after you understanding all the rules.
