Do any of your vintage motorcycle buddies or yourself have a use for this?

It would help if I knew what it was.   My guess is tools for the early monoshock but I dunno.   I bet somebody does, and if I knew I could ask around.

i wish i knew...my uncle said it has something to do with the piston, because the threads are for a spark plug hole!!! it's some kind of micrometer, and the p/n is on the front...it was literally sitting behind a computer desk with 10 pounds of dust on it...there is a couple of vintage frames in the backyard too, and one is a yamaha...so im thinking that it's all related

Nordie. looks like it might be a tool for finding exact TDC for timing of maybe the early twins. Just a wild shot in the dark but that would be my guess

Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer.
Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!

I checked in an old Yamaha service manual I have and it shows a dial indicator like that used to set the timing.

Unforturnately the manual didn't specify a part number for the tool.

Cool piece though.  If nobody else is interested let me know how much you want for it.

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
