I have been working with my best freind for the last twelve years, he has been my boss for the last five, he has accepted a job at another company and this is his last week.

Ironically, I applied to be his replacement and got it without a challenge, sort of a bittersweet day I guess...

The extra money and other perks will be nice given the state of the economy, but would rather keep working with my bud...I guess it's a sign of the times, this is the guy brave enough to get into a river raceboat with me in the late '90's, the plus is, now we can go on vacation at the same time, we have always been eachothers back up..

Yes, Congratulations on the promotion. Unless I missed my guess, you and your friend will probably be able to spend more recreational time together. Not a bad thing at all!
