Hey all, New to the site. Looking at buying a new river boat gonna be used pretty much from Laughlin all the way to Blythe. Right now I'm torn between 2 boats. One is an 83 targa(spectra) 19 with BBC and berk and the other is an 86 Bahner 19.5 with a mere 200. Both closed bow, both around the same price, both super clean and both claim 70 or more. my question is which one will ride better. Obviously the Bahner is going to be more fuel efficient and lighter and have more space inside but the spectra seems like it might be a little deeper and take the rougher stuff better. plus it has a little more cool factor i think. I like both just can't seem to decide. Like i said it will be used pretty much every where. most of the time from needles to the channel.

Personally I'm not a outboard kinda guy, so I'd go with the Targa/spectra deal. I think it all comes down to what you really like. Both boats look to be in great shape, but I'd make sure whichever way you go that you inspect them really well before you buy. Good luck

Ya I would prefer a jet. I've owned an outboard before and took it to blythe a few times so I'm not to worried about that. I'm more concerned about the ride. Especially in the rough time water by needles and the gorge. The guy with the spectra says sale pending though so well see how that goes. What do you guys think about the 18 Spectrasonics. Saw one earlier on offer up in pretty good shape. How do they ride. How do they do with decent power. Thanks
