Nut rattled off the old handle and couldn't find it in the boat for some reason so I had to buy a new one. Just being a smart ass because of all the debate lately

Thats a SWEET Valve.

You know what your valve has in common with ALL These

None of them control flow or pressure they are ALL only suppost to be used for ON/OFF applications...

Yes your gate valve that you use works but that doesnt mean thats what it is designed to do.  Thats my only point

The gate valves I show here have regulators after them I work in the industry around valves all day I know like 90% of boats have em I didnt design them just trying to share info thats not not their intent.

Just noticed this, why is your ball valve so close to your Bassett T? Your suppose to run it up to the driver seat.

Wow....   :screwy:

I am a 20 year union service pipe fitter journeyman and all I have to say is, use what works, if we only used pieces and parts inside their intended use, boating would not exist....

Give it a rest.

I have literally wasted enough of my life giving you proven examples of the gate valve working great, even being used outside it's intended use.

Just for the sake of argument, not one of the parts you are trying to shove down folk's throat have the intended use listed as "marine" nor do they list untreated lake water as an intended fluid to be controlled.

So what makes you more correct?

Let's see, it's cheap.
It is readily available.
Has great adjustability.
Provides a positive shut off in case stuff happens.
It is small and simple.
It works without virtually any moving parts.
Simple to adjust.
Requires no maintenance.
Is set it and forget it.
and is common.

If you can say that about any other part in a boat... I want two of them....
