J&S Machine/ John Keller Racing Engines, Las Vegas
« on: January 01, 2014, 01:54:32 PM »
Has any of you Vegas folks, heard of John Keller and J&S machine shop, or John Keller racing engines?
I visited their shop today, to look at a crank, and check out their shop to possibly do work on my block.
They look like a respectable shop, just have never heard of them before.

Hal, i don't know as i don't live there but, my suggestion to you is to take you dial bore gauge with you and ask to see a block they just machined, then ask to measure it yourself. If they balk then i suggest you walk away with your money, if not then measure the mains and see how close they came.

finding a good machinest (sp?) is a pain in the ass because most people just take their word for it that it is done right... but, often not the case when you get it home and start checking their work...
hope this helps and good luck

How long ago did you have work done by Vegas machine?
I have talked to several people about them, and none was positive.
I was also told that the machinest that was good, retired and they were baught out by some one else. Of course all this is here say.
A couple of shops, here, dont do crank grinding and send their crank work to Vegas machine.
