I was wanting to put a tee inline on my jetboat so i can visually see that its pumping water at all times.Where do i install it at i am running logs? also is this needed? i see alot of boats that do this.Is there any advantage or dis?

The biggest problem I see with running a tattle tale with logs would be balance, you need a lot of water flow to the elbows....

If you do this, make sure to put the tee in the outlet of the T-stat housing and make sure it has a fairly small outlet (like 1/4")...then you can run a pee hole out the side to ensure there is water flowing, I am not sure the it would be wort a damn, but it will tell you there is water coming out of the block....

Be careful, this water will be hot...

thanks gt...i usually see these lines like a 1/2 inch..but i guess that will take alot of water flow away from the motor? also where would be the best location> rear / side?

I see a lot of them on the drivers side at the rear of the boat. That's where I'm putting mine. I will have 3 dumps. One 3/4 for bilge pump and two 1/2" for engine with one out the back and one out the left rear side so I can peak over and make sure its flowing. I was kinda eyeballing the sand strainer at CP Performance. Has anyone tried one?

It's $600, but I don't know if its worth it or if I even need one. The river has a lot of sand, just not sure if its any kind of problem??
