making a living
« on: May 26, 2009, 09:53:51 PM »
Probably already a thread on here, but I couldn't find one.

I am an Industrial demolition supervisor.  Work primarily in petrochemical and aerospace industries.

Fun with an 80,000# Cat 330 excavator + 5,500 psi LeBounty hydraulic shear = 80,000 barrel tank on the ground and in the back of a semi in 3 days.

These machines require alot more love than an Olds 455.

what do you do?

I'll play...

I sell property information. We collect information on all types of Real Estate Nationwide and can sell it in just about any form you could ever want.

Basically I sit at a desk all day and talk on the phone and write emails, it can be boring but it pays the bills.

QA is a cool job. Did that for a couple years for U-Haul's Technical Center until we agreed that my standard of quality control wasn't to their low level of standards. We agreed to disagree, and so I went back to Retail, which I missed anyway.

I'm a specialty manager for The Home Depot.

Mining so play with excavator and explosives along with drills, etcetera. Jobs a little easy--dig get rock samples and send them off to an Assayer. Sit around waiting for the results--make report and then help explain those results to stock analysts and the odd stock broker or two, etcetera. Translate the geology!

I'm seriously considering starting a small jet and V-drive; shop copy Jet Boat Performance too fill my spare time. Once I get out from paying for two houses and other misc. expenses under control!  :banghead:
