Mandella vdrive

So I just picked up a 17 foot 1966 Mandella vdrive short deck. It's set for a SBC which is fine I want to keep it retro. Has anyone on here ever ridden or owned one?  ( don't tell me this is a jet boat site, well no shit I'm a jet boat owner too) I want to know how they ride, handle all that good stuff. I bought it because I thought it would be cool to do a old school boat like that.

I've never owned one personally but had a buddy that had one. It had a BBC in it. Very nice riding vdrive. Smooth in calm water and it really was a nice ride in rough water as well.

AFR 220cc aluminium heads.
Crane roller rockers.
Crane stud girdles.
Comp Mutha thumpr cam .522 lift.
JE .200 dome pistons.
Brooks aluminium rods.
Kryptonite crank.
MSD crank trigger.
MSD crank trigger distributor.
Quick fuel 1050 carb.
Custom sheet metal intake.
Custom fab sheet metal valve covers.

Hmmm.. i imagine it is alot like my 1972 17foot aquacraft.. fun boat in calm water.. flattys dont like chop.. they are alot of fun tho..gonna be way different than your jet boat forsure

I have had runner bottoms and a 76 Hondo flattie just never owned or ridden in a older flattie let alone a Mandella.
