Need some help here.

I have always had Berkley or Dominator pumps, and none of my boats ever had the problem my wife's Carrera is having.
She has an American Turbine. When we first put the boat in the water, it's gets an air bubble in the pump and won't grab water. Sunday it took a few minutes with the boat running before it burped and then started flowing.

Why does this happen?

What can I do to prevent or speed up the process?

Is this an indication of something being wrong?

Has a droop right? It's normal with a droop and they make a little check valve you can put on the top of your bowl.

Mine does it too periodically. I know they used to make a little nozzle that you tap into your bowl. It had two very small holes in much like a cars windshield fluid nozzle. Not sure how well they worked...

With a droop it is normal for this to happen it is just a air bubble. When you put your boat in the water back in with the bucket up and it helps some. If you launching into the current keep it on the trailer till it loads and you will be fine.

We normally put the trailer deep with the bucket open and pull it back out a little then start the boat, never takes more than two seconds to prime.

Berkeley with a full droop.
