New member has question
« on: November 07, 2011, 09:57:54 AM »
Hello , I am a new member. Iam in the process of buying a boat . Going to Arizona to pick up one of three boats I have narrowed it down to. Two are Kachinas with BBF , one of these is tunnel ram with two fours the other is single four barrel. Both have good pumps with droop snoots . The other boat is Hallet wit BBC that is single four but pretty radical . My question is where can I locate a water fuel seperator as i have been told pretty good item to use . Iam also trying to find a valve to mount at driver seat to acess to adjust water flow to headers. Not new to hot rods just havent owned a jet boat . Want to set up right as to narrow down problems in the future, would like to play & cut down on maint problems. Could you guys give some info where to look for these parts ? Much appreciated. Will post Pics when i pick up boat , looking forward to this & probally will have Questions as i go along . Oh yeah I am from Texas around Dallas & you dont see that many jet boats here , I think it will get quite bit of attention. Thanks Rick

Any auto parts/marine store....even walmart. If your using it as the only filter...you can get it in a 10 micron. I have a 21 micron on mine. Most boats have a water/fuel sep already plumed. You could buy a cheap valve at Home d or look around here for a used or even performance boats forum...both in spam classified sec.

I too just recently got my first jet boat, been hot rodding for years, just new to boats.  For marine hardware specific to boating I have been purchasing my stuff at Rex Marine.  The do mail order catalog stuff out of California.  They have been really helpful tech wise and know their stuff.  www.rexmar.com is there website but its not all that complete so just give them a call.  Can't wait to see pics of the boat.

west marine would be an easy pickup for the water/fuel seperator.  thats where i got mine.

header valve can be found at rexmar, or keep your eyes peeled online... theres scjb, riverdaves place, performance boats, craigslist, etc.  keep your eyes open for a header valve.  they come up from time to time.
