2007 Nostalgia Jet Circle Boat Racing
I have received word from Ross Wallach Commodor of the SCSC, that for us, the Nostalgia Jet Class, to start our season at Lake Ming/Bakersfield in March, I need commitments. Anyone wishing to field a boat in the Nostalgia Jet Class on March 3rd - 4th, please step up now.
The Southern California Speedboat Club is offering a Nostalgia Jet Class, but with few CJs, they have had to race against the v-drives. This is OK for bragging rights, but according to Ross Wallach (Commodore of SCSC), we Jet Boat Guys and Gals can have our own class if there are a minimum number of participants.
I am working on the Nostalgia Jet Class for SCSC. My goal was to put the rules together that will accommodate most Jet Boat circle racing classes. I want to instill on everyone that no matter what, the max speed rule of 80.9mph will not be changed. This one rule is our major governing body to keep the little guy in the game. These are our Official Rules at this time for Nostalgia Jet. I would like to make a general group of rules across the country. This way if a guy in NC or Washington wants to run out at Lake Ming, CA, all he has to worry about is getting here on time.
Anyone that is interested, would like to get involved, or want more info in Jet Boat Circle racing, please let me know by email: epm@npgcable.com. We need a minimum of 5 boats to have a Nostalgia Jet Class.
Please review

Believe me when I say I really want to do this . My equipment and my pocket book just arent ready for this yet . Can someone jump in at any point or do you have to be in it from the begining.

Anyone at anytime during the season can enter these races. The kicker is this to have a next race we need boats now ! My first race I only was running 68mph with a stock BBF.
As far as expences there are plenty of guys on the boards that would be willing to loan equiptment. Also Lifeline is on site and they have a rental program.
Come-on out it is funner than shit !
-
When is the latest I can enter. I got 1/4 stringers and was kind of hopeing to get full length before I entered.

Wish my boat would ready by March. Sounds like fun and a good way to learn the ropes. I have wanted to start racing boats for awhile now. My biggest problem is my wife and her fear for me doing it.

Jim do you ever sleep ;D i dont see the diverter stop could you show a pic of that for me please? i need to figure something out here pretty soon.
Beerjet i'll put my canopy on and well race with em up fock the rest :o
-
Here is the simplest diverter stop I could make. That large hole fits the diverter control cable through it and is simply sandwiched down. The hole on the end was for a adjustable stop but it is not needed.

Getting a physical shouldn't be a problem . My doctors office is a quarter mile down the road . I give him a shout though for sure . I also called lifeline today . Renting one at the race is not a for sure thing either so here come the credit card . That is the only thing thats gonna hurt the pocket book .

This is definatly putting a big strain on my summer since I aint no baller by any means . I need to send in the forms and pay, buy a helmet , my jacket and neck restraint came in on wed.I also need to get a physical. Fuel tank is taken care of, I need to mount the Kill switch and run the boat around the lake a few times . Oil change also . We'll see what other little gremlins show up too. I also have to figure out how I'm gonna keep up with the new alloy you got . Nice stuff.

It is extremely important to get pre-registered as it will allow us to start the event on time!
Next, make your hotel reservations asap (see race circular) as the room bloc is on a first come, first serve basis and once the rooms are gone, they are gone!
Any questions please call or email.
Thank you for your support.

The cav plate deal is cool but real old school, Now if you were to design a deal that worked cavplates and diverter at the same time you would have something.
And yes your dad seems to know whats going on.
