Went fishing in the Newport Beach Bay last night and my buddy caught a HUGE Bat Ray. He fought it for about a half hour. The initial run it made nearly took his entire 300 yards of 80lb line! It was awesome watching him battle the thing and to finally see it flap its fin/wing as it was a few feet away was incredible. We estimated it at 80-100lbs with a wing span of 5-6ft

The last picture is of us trying to get him back in the water. It wasnt easy to do especially trying not to fall in with it. Getting him in and out was a challenge, it was about a 4-5 foot drop to the water. Seeing him swin off after we got him back in was pretty cool.

Great Job Man!!     2 thumbs up, 1 for catching it and 1 for the catch-n-release. I'm a fishermen also and a firm believer of catch-n-release almost all the time.
