Do you have an old distributor you don't mind destroying?

Ok I made one super ghetto but if you have a really long flat head screwdriver find a socket that would fit over the shaft and would also slide over the end of the screw driver and weld the top of the socket so the flat head end of the screwdriver and socket are flush. Socket is used to keep flat head lined up under high rotation. Then use a drill to spin the screwdriver until pressure comes up.

And I'm also in pomona so you can borrow it if you want. I've used it for 3 motors and never had a problem.

Won't work. The oil just shortcuts in the oil galley. The body of the distributor actually blocks the galley passage in the block.

:(

I did what Glenn is talking about in post #2.
Pull the gear off and run an socket head bolt in where the rotor goes.
Put an allen in a drill and you got oil pressure.

I've got one you can borrow, but I don't have any plans to be in your area any time soon.  If you can come to Redlands I'll take it to work with me.

I used an old Corvette cast iron distributor, chucked the gear up in a lathe and cut the teeth off. Removed the mechanical advance "wings" and you can chuck that up to a drill motor.

Works killer.

Wish you were closer. It needs some excercise...lol

I know but I wasn't about to cut up a extra distributor and weld a socket to it to make a prime tool for a sbc.... Sorry just wasn't gonna happen lol. Big block or no block. But the offer stands. I have a striped dizzy I'd be willing to prep for ya as long as you replace the socket
