Subject:  97 chev C1500.

At 2400 rpms, what is an acceptable amount of compressor cycles per minute?

I just recharged my 97 c3500 and can check to see what mine does when I get back from tearing up a triple dipper and a fat tire draft from Chili's

I think if I remember right it was about once every 7-8 seconds. That's including the cycle.

All data says 8 times per minute, but that seems excessive.  I'm at about 4, which also seems excessive.  My
High side is right at 190 and the low side 35 at idle, but it sucks down 20 pretty quick and shuts it down.  Static, at 80 degrees I'm at 70psi...which might be a tad low.  I just changed the o-tube and r/d and it seems to have helped.

I'm used to toyotas that use friction material in the clutch, while GM is just metal to metal.  Maybe I'm just concerned because I can hear it now.

Pressure seems a little low.  We try for closer to 250/50.

Mine is pretty loud. I bought a cheap gauge from Auto Zone and mine stays between 30 & 175 I believe. The gauge is garbage. But the AC works after a new compressor and top house due to a leaky schrader valve.

Keith, are you at a GM store?  If so, could you OE info and see what the capacity of my truck is?  All my references have different info.  I've got 2 lbs in it now.
