Pics from Long Beach
« on: August 06, 2013, 09:57:50 PM »
Here are some pics from the Long Beach races.  I took about 900 so I need to go through them and pick some out.  Wanted to throw up some of the river racer jets.  These are from Saturday.  (the only day I went)

look at ralph out there beating up on that 18 spectra cruiser with logs and snails.

that RR class is a pretty cool idea.  looks like a ton of fun.

just out of curiousity do you ever throw some bouys out at the river and practice?

Do they run those in the salt? I feel sad for the boats if they do.

All that salt running through the engine for hours is horrible for a jet, at least that's what I've heard. I've have builders that know my float and have known it because it's been ran in salt before and they can see the damage. I'm no longer a salter, only river water runs through my ride. If anyone knows more than me then I'll defer to them, but as far as I know once you've gone salt you can turn...wait that doesn't work. The point is running in salt because of the way the engine is cooled and etc is very bad. Salt is corrosive and destructive to internals.

True, when it sits in the motor for months. If you drive it saturday sunday and rinse yhe motor and pump out, or I should say flush, you are fine. The salt in the water doesnt have a chance to damage the motor.

Don't forget to wash the trailer real good too.  Sea water will take a toll on it because it will have so many places that collect water that will not get a good flushing the next time the boat is run at the lake/river.
