**PRESS RELEASE**
April 6th, 2016
Early this morning, a fire started on the Arizona side of the Colorado River and unfortunately crossed the river due to strong winds, and the fire came into contact with Pirate Cove Resort property.
We are extremely fortunate to report that Pirate Cove Resort sustained minimal loss. Only Zipline poles and the roof of the outdoor DJ pavilion were damaged due to the fire. We are very happy to report that NO damage occurred to Pirate Cove’s Restaurant and Bar, Store, Marina, Cabins, RV Park (only 1 RV space sustained minor electrical damage) and Mobile Home Park.
We would like to thank Maureen Snelgrove and San Bernardino County, San Bernardino County Fire Department, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Land Management, Fisheries and Wildlife, Mojave Valley Fire, Air Rescue and countless others who worked extremely hard and united in order to contain this fire.
Pirate Cove would also like to thank its customers and community members for such positive support throughout this time. This will not affect Pirate Cove’s operation and all facilities will be open for business Friday, April 8th (Mobile home owners will be allowed back tomorrow, Thursday, April 7th).
