Pulled the trigger on a boat
« on: March 30, 2014, 02:18:02 PM »
It's a 85 Wriedt maverick 19 with a Berkeley 12-JC-A jet Gleenwood headers and a 455. It's our first boat, I grew up on ski boats so the jet stuff is all new to me. We want to do a few things right away.

1. A plug the guy lost it
2. Paint the trailer
3. Stereo it didn't have one
4. Place Diverter
5. Redo the rat nest of wired and change the garden hoses.

I'll be asking a lot of questions and asking for a lot of help. Anyone wants to give me a hand beers and I'll bbq as a thank you.

We are super stoked and can't wait to meet up for one of the forum trips.

While I wont disagree the hoses should be replaced. I don't think that they are garden hoses. Many manufacturers made that orange-ish pink heater hose. It was used extensively in the industrial industry.

Sweet little boat though. Congratulations on the first boat. That in itself is a huge step.

There is a local shop if you need to get some "last minute" parts or supplies. The Anchor in Reseda, on Reseda Blvd is not too far from you. Just a heads up. Oh yeah, they are open on the weekend too. Good luck. Nice float

Welcome to the Wriedt Club.  Mine has been extremely solid.

Sorry too about the albatross errr ummm uhh the OLDS you got hanging around your neck with the deal.  Although I gotta believe that a 300 hp 455 will move your boat a whole lot faster than it does mine  :banghead:

I've heard those Olds don't like high RPMs for long extended runs. There's a lot of great info on this site. Take advantage of it. And happy boating!!
