I was planning on going to Castaic Sunday, but I'm game for Pyramid...... it's lke twenty minutes further I think...... never actually been there but I used to pass it on the way to Gorman back when I used to ride my ATV................

Ther is always the 9/1-9/2 which is labor day weekend . I'm not a big fan of of goin out on big weekends but , I'm just a sheep and I will follow . Mind you , most will also have monday off.
There is also 9/8 - 9/9

We're still going to Castaic this Sunday the 19th.

Drove by Pyramid today at about 3:00. The wind was soooo bad that the lake was white capping. For most of us the drive is about another 30 min. past Castaic. If everyone is willing to change to Castaic that might be a better option. I put a poll so please vote. See ya all next weekend.

Not gonna be able to make it 8/25 or 8/26. I'll be doing Parker that weekend.

So far the poll is Castaic by a whopping 60% margin; in politics, that's a mandate; but in this case, that's only 1 vote ;D

No boating today....... back is still a little sore to be bouncing around on the lake........ Next week it'll take a Hurricane to keep me away......
I voted Castaic 'cause they keep the PWCs corralled away in a corner....... but I'm game for anything.

At Castaic the secret is to get there before 9AM. After that it gets to suckin'.
Somebody asked about pyramid's launch ramp.... It's a much smaller ramp, it's not as long, it's half as wise (if that) and I wouldn't be able to gauge the grade correctly... However, you can camp at pyramid right above the launch ramp. BTW, if you're planning to go to pyramid on a summer's day you definitely want to be there early. We typically camp out in line...

According to their website http://www.pyramidlakeca.com/ they limit access to 150 boats and 50 pwcs......

That's why you camp out. When you camp out you can't reserve places in line... Unless you're willing to deal with people who may be considered linguistically challenged within our borders.
STORY TIME!
Had to deal with one guy last week at the gas station. We were waiting for a pump for 15 minutes. The guy is leaving and since we're towing a boat it's a little more difficult to snag a spot... With perfect timing a border brother and van full of family pulls in. I jump out of the truck and am trying to explain to him that we had been waiting while he's telling me in near perfect english that he doesn't understand english (he must get A LOT of practice saying that line). So I resort to hand signals. As I am getting increasingly upset the guys in the back of the van are laughing. At this point it's either give in to my temper or just stand in front of the van. Stand in front of the van was my choice. He reluctantly backed up and we took our rightful spot at the pump just to find out the station was out of premium!!!!!!! So we had to go to another gas station.

Looks like Castaic is winning the poll. Sorry Pyramid people. What time and where does everybody want to meet. I am planning on leaving the OC about 7:00am. Should put me at the launch ramp by 8:45ish. Looks like "undone" is going to have a new ride. I think he should give us a pull around the lake to break it in. Who's with me?

I'll be there on Sunday the 26th @ 6AM, I can meet you guys at the dock at 9. If you want a tow behind the new boat I'd suggest getting there @ 9 or earlier cuz the water starts getting pretty shitty with all the boats out there.

Good deal because I am waiting on my rope and ski... They're on order... Hopefully I'll be able to make it out there. I was diagnosed with either strep or mono today and I'm sporting a 102 degree fever. So like I said hopefully we'll be seeing you guys out there. Give me a call saturday night and I'll give you an update. I'm lucky to be feeling well enough to be out of bed right now. Just started my antibiotics so I'll know by tomorrow morning whether or not I have strep. If I do end up going and Tim would like to go I will reserve him a seat or two on my boat.

Being boatless, I was going to sit this out; since I have 5 in my family, I didn't want to ask for a ride; however, I now have 2 with plans on Sunday so I only need a ride for me and 2 chillins (12/8).
Before even asking, UNDONE offered up a couple seats (btw, I'll bring my rope and ski); he thinks he may have 3 but I don't want him to bump anyone.
If you're going Omar I thought you may have an extra seat or 2 (if you take Garrett you'll get the pleasure of hearing: "Can I drive" ;D

Post your name and a pic(if you have one) so we know who we are looking for. Cant miss Beerjet(The floating Creamsicle ;D)j/k, I'll be in a blue/white 21' openbow. Looking forward to meeting some of you I havent met yet. Since Undone seems to be the Castaic local, maybe he can post EXACTLY what cove is the best. See ya all menyana.

Most boaters hang out in Elizabeth Canyon. I would post directions but not good with that. They will give you a map when you pay at the booth.

Sorry guys. I keep getting worse. Been battling whatever this is since tuesday when I picked up the new boat. Went to the dr. thursday, and today there are no improvements. My girlfriend and best friend may end up taking the new boat out... Bob and Tim, you guys met her a few weeks back- Jenny. My friend will be Brandon and another friend Darren will most likely tag along. I have almost completely lost my voice.

Wanabe did take some pics. I forgot my camera. Oops. Met up with Beerjet, Toes, and Undone left a message on my phone but never saw him. He sounded like death warmed over on his message so I dont know if he ever hit the water. Was a great day though. A little windy and VERY choppy. Launched my boat out of the water a few times. Still better than working. ;D

I was out there at about one. I just sat under the bimini and drove, let everyone else have fun. Stayed on the water the whole time. We were on the left side of the lake towards the West Launch ramp over where the ski area is... I think I'm gonna convince my friends to pay for the ski area membership because looking into that cove at glass all day is just unacceptable when you're out there bouncing around only 20 yards away! Surprisingly being out on the boat gave me a bit of a second wind and I thought about getting behind the boat til my little toes touched the water.
New boat did great. Everyone aboard loved it. Haven't been skiing with it yet, hopefully sometime this week. Got my rope in the mail on Friday, so if you guys want a tow just bring a ski or whatever you want to be pulled on. Even surf boards are fair game.

Hey guys...... met up with flytime at the cove ...... the boat was running a lttle hot so I didn't take it out and play. Saw beerjet and the CHINGADERA on the way out. Had to leave early as my wife had to leave town but we will definitely have to do this again...... I think my thermostat was sticking when I first got there and that was the cause of the overheating........ no problems on the way out everything ran fine........ btw..... got my hands on a freebie Edelbrock manifold..... now I just need a carb!

Next Sunday sounds good. I've been at the lake every night this week except Thursday. Going all three days this weekend, and probably a lot of next week. I will plan on meeting you guys up there on next Sunday.

Since it's not a holiday weekend it shouldn't be as busy, this weekend was nuts out there... So I'm figuring weather permitting the water should be O.K. til about 10 so I'll head back to the cove around then.
