Rookie anchor advise

When ya tie off the front of the boat..........
Do you use a carabeaner?
Do you climb over the front and tie everytime?
What type of knot?
 ::)    I Know,Iknow  I'm a dork! Last year I was jumping wakes with it till someone said ...bad idea.
It was fun though!!! O0  Lost my tool bag,cooler,2 life jackets and amost my passanger! :o

You need to go and pick up an "Anchors Away", its a little like a bungee cord but used between your anchor and the boat along with the anchor rope it allows you to pull the boat to shore and keeps thins tight while never having to adjust your anchor, love mine, don't know who has them in your area but mine came from Cabella"s.

I use a plastic coated carabeaner ("Cara-Vato" as we call them) so it wont scratch the gelcoat.

Always use a 5 or 6 foot length of chain between the anchor and the rope (takes to "bobbing") without dislodging the anchor And yeah the "bungees" are the shiznit ($34.95 colors) Tom

Normaly I can back my trailer up to the water. So on the bow, I have 10' rope with a clasp sewn into it, that I latch up to. Then off the stern I use a basic anchor with chain and bungee rope. :D

One  trip I got lazy, and didn't rope it up, just beached the Tahiti. Next morning when I woke up my Tahiti was missing! Luckly we were in a cove, and it had floated down about 50 feet from me. Learned my lesson that night.

One time growing up, a buddy beached his boat overnight and the river went down. Took a bunch of guys to drag his boat back to water!!! I try to anchor nose out towards the center of river and tie the transom to shore. Nearly got swamped once, so now I do it this way. I definitely need to call Tom and order one of those bungees.
