I just got back from Elsinore.  Me, the kid and the dork, I mean dog.  Had the best time in a long time.  Got wet too       Just didn't have a boat.  Final D37 GP race for the year.  This is the first year taking over the Motorsports park which sits pretty much on the historical lake bottom.  It was muddy but the dozer crews worked their asses off and made what was probably one of the two funnest tracks of the 7 race series.
But my 53 yr old ass planted firmly on my 42 yr old CZ was kicking butts and not stopping to take names.  The crazy slippery mud and the deep ruts was a great equalizer and I was passing modern bikes while being passed by fast kids on 80's at times.  But most of the track was sticky dustless rock free grade AA perfect dirt.  Nearly every corner had a mixture of sticky dirt and small berms which were just perfect for any kind of hero cornering technique you wanted to use.  And I used em all   O0
I got to race Day in the Dirt at Glen Helen last weekend.  Never done the biggest hills on my Vintage bike.  That was interesting, especially when I lost my brakes on a downhill and overshot the turn by 50 feet.  I considered quitting for about 30 seconds, but didn't, just rode a lot more cautious (and slow).  4 weeks from now the series starts all over at Adelanto.  They are resurrecting the Adelanto GP of years past centered around the baseball stadium which will be awesome for spectators especially.

Sorry to ramble on with dirt stuff, but today I felt like a kid again.  There is nothing funner on this planet than dirt biking on a perfect track.  Although making the perfect pass on a water ski 15 minutes after dawn comes close.  Crap now I wanna go skiing.

Not me, but the fetching Mrs. Glasscutter is going to Maine next week to cover the next craziest thing that Red Bull has come up with.  They got a bunch of pro off road guys to bring the Trophy Trucks back east.  They will be racing UP the ski runs of a major ski resort back there.  Click the link and scroll down to the bottom for a video of RJ spinning that motor at about 10 grand and never really hooking up.

http://www.redbull.com/us/en/motorsports/offroad/events/1331618130114/red-bull-frozen-rush

My wife has gone from ruining family snap shots to a nationally published sports photographer in about 3.5 years.  She even shot the cover for an Diesel truck mag a few months back.  Yeah, I'm pretty proud of her.
She is currently working for DirtSports & Offroad magazine so if any of you are out at the King of Hammers you may see us out there.   My buddy (and her editor) and I will have just gotten back the day before from the second round of the AMA Vintage Gran Prix in Taft, so if we look a bit ragged you'll know why.  I'm having a brand new long legged Husqvarna built while I re-do the ol' CZ.
See ya at the races !!!

I couldn't directly link any of the videos on his FB page but here's a link to R.J. Anderson's FB page  https://www.facebook.com/TheRJ37 where you will find all kinds of cool stuff like Greg Biffle's 400 hp RZR and more interestingly, his day in Maine qualifying for this weekend's race up the ski slopes of Sunday River.  The first link is what my wife saw during her ride along today.  It was minus 20 degrees but her biggest complaint was how loud the open exhaust was.  Said her ears were ringing hours later.   I guess he doesn't run logs LOL
