A guy on Catalina got hit too. The rain didn't bother us. But as soon as the rod tips started creating static electricity, that was the last straw lol.
My first yellowfin!!!! So amped, already had sushi:)

My dad and I went out last Thursday on the New-Lo-An out of Diego. We had a great day with limits on Yellowfin and a couple Dorado. Fishing is good right now! One of the guys on the boat hauled in a 117 lb Opah witch took him 3 hrs. We also went out to Catalina on Friday and got into a good school of Yellow tail. Good week of fishing!

We absolutely slayed the tuna today. Can't wait to go on the Aztec again. Gonna be going to Catalina/209 again Thursday on my uncles boat.

Gonna be going to Catalina/209 again Thursday on my uncles boat.

Talked to a skipper friend of mine out of Long Beach yesterday and he said they're killing the yellow tail out there right now. I'm planning on another trip early next week. Hopefully (fingers crossed)

Lately I've been going out on the Gail Force or Triton with Capt Ryan Gingler out of Long Beach Sportfishing, Berth 55. Other then that I have a buddy with a 26ft that we hit the Island with. This pic is from our last trip on his boat south of Catalina. It was a good day!

Man I'm jealous, can't get out cause of fricking work :banghead: :banghead:  My brother has been going out on his boat and doing OK. Last weekend found patties with fish on em but wouldn't hit a fricking thing you threw to em. Said the hell with it and put on his mask snorkle and fins. Jumped in with his spear gun and was picking the ones he wanted

Heading out on the Monte Carlo out of 22nd street for private charter in a couple weeks...should be good, only 30 people.

I only have spinning gear for the beach, so I plan on renting gear.  I found a couple penn Jigmaster 500 reels on 30-50lb rated rods in the $100 range...should I pick one up?  Not spending $1500 on serious gear right now, I just wanna catch a few fish.  I'm told the rental gear is shit
