Spectra Boats
« on: February 03, 2015, 04:43:08 PM »
Can anyone give me some insight? Going to check a 21 spectra this weekend. It's a 74 with berk JC, new interior and a 455 olds. Obviously with my last build the olds didn't scare me off.

Any common problems I should look for? Thanks guys!

Thanks for the reply man, yeah I'm 100% fine running an olds. Especially since it's a cruiser with no need for speed

Very well built boats!
Dunno if you knew, I'm finishing a Spectra right now.

Hopefully someone already changed the fiberglass tanks, if not, that will be a must!

Good news, no wood in the transom, less area for rot.

I texted you... You still have the same #?

I think '74 20'should be a full stringer boat too. Between '75 and '78 the jets had a motor box and then went back to full stringers after '78. Either way, they're laid up pretty heavy and even the motor box boats are stout. Great cruisers!

My 20 is built like a brick shit house but had a lot of stress cracks and checking in the gel that I had to going out and fill with glass. Great looking and riding boat.
