stupid question

When hooked to the garden hose, should the impellar be spinning and shooting water likeit does when were on the river? I feel stupid for asking but i would like to know.

Impeller spins anytime the engine does,  but no water will come out of the jet unit.

The one inside the big bowl on the outside of the boat isnt spinning... Im guessing thats not a good thing by the look on the husbands face..
What should happen now? Do we need to replace something?

That's not an impeller, those are just vanes that direct water flow. The impeller sits behind that.

If your talking about the bowl vanes . They don't spin . You can't see the impeller from outside of boat. If that's what your talking about.
