This past Saturday I sank my boat. Has anyone ever recovered there boat and how did u do it

They said its about 20 feet

if you can dive that deep tie innertubes to the boat then inflate them using an air tank tow it to shallow water. put tubes under it inflate and drain boat. stick on trailer. have a beer.

i hate to say it but pay a professional...


inflating a bag at 20ft enough to raise an entire boat will rise in psi as it comes to the surface (basic scuba diving knowledge...) what are you going to do with an inner tube when you fill it at the bottom and it comes to the surface?  professionals have bag systems that handle such pressure differences.  if the tube explodes on the way to the surface under the bow you'll cause even more damage and then it will again fall to the bottom... not to mention you could get seriously hurt yourself.  2000 pounds falling is no joke. 


it even took mythbusters 27,000 ping pong balls to raise a boat to the surface...

If you have insurance doesn't it cover those fines?

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly the numbers on what mine covers but I know they said they cover the max fine you can get. Like 800k or so something. Don't really plan on sinking or dumping a bunch of benzine ring in the lake.

i would say give it a try if you have scuba equip you can use the tanks to fill the tubes with air. once you get it off the bottom you should be able to tow it to shallower water where you can work on it.

I sunk my 21ft miniday and recovered it myself. I also recovered a jet ski in about 15 ft of water. That was easy though i just tied it to another ski and pulled. eventually it came up to the surface. then i just charged towards shore with the sunk ski in tow to get it up to the beach
