Sounds like your best bet is to make your own PTO for a 1350 drive line.  I make these out of 7075-T6.  The others are just mild steel.  You will either need to make the PTO register to the crankshaft or the flywheel, depending on how much register your crankshaft has protruding or recessed relative to your flywheel or flexplate.

I was thinking stainless, and having it match up the crankshaft, sandwiching the flex plate.  If I use the driveshaft line mash up posted I shouldn't have an issue. I wss just thinking about breaking oats and the availability of new ones.

I just didn't know where to begin looking for parts and all my searches came up empty. I thought I was going to have to fabricate a drive shaft and all

Picked up the boat today.   Here's the 2j transplant recipient. Going to be doing some minor work to the hull, putting a floor in, etc.

Can't wait.

i drew one up in cad realy quick and have a local machine shop making it for $100 out of stainless.

i made it for the 1310 shaft. but i'm thinking i should have gone with the h-bar shaft.  anyone actually ever seen the shaft break??? i figured some stronger u-joints and it shouldn't be a problem. but i haven't seen anyone online post about breaking their ds

i wouldnt worry aboit it that much, its not a blower or nitrous motor with instant torque jump, turbos ease into torque

I'd love to see pics of your 2j boat or hear any bits of info you have. Right now I'm debating on raw water cooling or a heat exchanger.  If I do raw water I know I have to take out the thermostat and put one at the end of the water flow path rather than the beginning.

The exchanger I won't have to modify anything, just treat it like a radiator.

You don't want to restrict the water going out, because the pump will produce more pressure than the head gaskets and freeze plugs can handle.

Restrict the input (gate valve) right at the pump.

I'm glad you brought that up. How is the gate valve set. I know it doesn't have a gauge. Maybe I need a gauge to be able to see what type of pressure is in the line?

And I was saying thermostat at the end, because if it's at the front, the cold raw water will keep the thermostat closed

i'm having difficulty finding diagrams or info on setting up the cooling system.  can someone point me to the right direction with parts needed.  i would like to have a relief valve in the system so that the water pressure never goes over 18psi.

is it essentially,  jet pump->gate valve->pressure reliefe->engine cold side->engine hot side->thermostat housing->back to water  ?????

thanks in advance.  this whole jet boat thing is so new to me.

also. boat build update.  boat is getting painted Rochelle red, and it's all going to be themed off of the Flash.
