Thank you SCJB members, you are the best!
« on: April 08, 2015, 07:00:04 PM »
As many of you know I've been building an old truck for my daughter to drive.  Many of you also know my daughter is spoiled... big time!  And not just by me, many of you have helped with this project by donating parts, giving me great deals on the stuff I have purchased and a few with muscle when needed.  So, I'm going to post a few pictures of the progress and give a shout out to a few of the incredibly generous people that have helped in so many ways.

Thank you to all who have contributed to this project.
Nordie, Hallett Dave, Nasty Nate, 1sleek1, Sam Carlos, Flusher, Beaveretriever and everyone else that I might have missed.

I have hundreds of other pics, but they are all from my phone and for some reason the site wants to turn all of my up right pics sideways  :banghead:

The notch was needed for the 5" drop springs I was using.  This thing rides nice and we only have a little rub issue with the front tires on big dips because of the width of the wheels.

It's actually a 71 C10 with a 70 grill and bumper.  I wasn't looking forward to the near $500 it was going to cost for a new 71 grill assembly when I had the grill out of the 70 C30 cabover camper we had when I was a kid.  My daughter being very nostalgic was pretty happy to be able to use something in her truck that belonged to her grandfather.

Nice I had a 69 and put a 67 front end and bed.  Good looking truck sir.

Nice, LOL  :)
Looking good Keith.  I am happy that I could contribute to the project.
Becca,
If you have the urge to have your dad slap a big block in that sweet ride, I have an original aluminum Winters casting intake manifold that came off the Hallett that I could donate.
It fits 396, 427 & 454 big blocks.  Old school but still a nice piece.
I look forward to seeing you all at the AVI.  8)

Uh Dave, it's already got the big block in it and it's sporting the awesome set of Cal Custom finned valve covers you so generously donated to the build.
Thanks again Dave.

Uh Keith, I'm old.  ::) LOL
The valve covers look good on the engine.  I can't tell what intake manifold she has.
Probably something good so I doubt you have any use for my GM 8933168 Winters Snow Flake casting aluminum intake.
Let me know if you do.
You know the truck needs to make a trip to the river.  I'm going to need a ride, tires smoking all the way across the AVI bridge.  ;)
You and Becca are very welcome.
See you all soon
