What part of boating makes you want to throw in the towel?
I hate, with a deep rooted passion, buffing/waxing.
Actually, I kind of hate it all right now.
I've been spoiled with only doing oil changes and gassing up the boat as prep the last few years and now, I'm FAR too lazy to do anything else.

I wish buffing and waxing was only thing on my list of to-do's.
-
Shit... I'll do that any day.... Then again I'm a rookie...
I'd rather be polishing and waxing the boat then polishing and waxing my old rice rocket

Crowded sandbars....all the norm maintenance is frustrating sometimes but once I'm out cruising it all melts away.
-
40 foot boats driven by 20 year old kids.
-
The "spending money" part.
-
I know what's pissing me off...
I already buffed it out once, and SOMEONE ELSE was supposed to wax it....
They didn't (of course) so it needed to be buffed again (which is what I'm doing right now) and still needs to be waxed (which I'll do after).
Maybe I just need to get shit faced drunk tonight....

I met her once at Lazy Harrys, but I thought you were referring to Mutt and Jeff............tell her I said hello, and "get back to work".
-
I don't think I'd want to the look on my wife's face if I told she needed to wax the boat. It wood be worse than your profile pic Omar. Then I would have to deal with the knot on my head after she wacked upside my head!!!
But she is willing to help out when we pull the boat out of the water👍

Cleaning up after an oil change! Shit takes all summer then I do it again... Second would have to be the smell of gasoline I get when I fuel it too much because my drivers side fill cap seal is old and rotted out and leaks.
I really end to get set up a drain tube or something.

the only part of boating i hate is the part where i have to put life aside so that i can have time to actually go and enjoy it. all the countless hours in the garage, sore back, etc and i havent even been able to hit the lake nor will I probably even be able to go with season with the new rugrat. thats what i hate... i wish there was a button that beamed me to my boat in the water at any given moment.

Buy a boat like mine....no buffing/waxing/hosing off required.

Your kid might be old enough towards the end of the season.
My girls are August and October baby's and I had them out before they were a year old and in the water the following season.

What I hate is when you feel you've done everything right, double checked your shit and some part fails, causing you the famous, "Break Off Another Thousand". Makes me want to master my technique in channel surfing.

If that don't make you want to smash your head against a wall, I don't know what does.

When we first get in the boat and get going my little girl would scream her head off for about a minute and then be sawin logs with the towel over her head just like that!
They're like parrots.
Put a towel over them and it's lights out!
I think some of it has to do with the wind in their faces too .

What do I hate about boating? Weekend warriors that just bought their boats without knowing the first thing about boating!!
Wake boat boats ad the douche bags that borrow them from their father.
Park Rangers and county Sheriffs!!

Wake board boat's are the worst wtf did they ever invent those pieces of shot for

Wake board boats... But wait someone designed a wake surfing boat. Because a 4 foot wake wasn't enough we now have to contend with a 6+ foot roller on the river.

That's crazy 6' waves in a narrow will damage dock not just swamp a vintage

I really don't see what pisses you off. I grew up on ski boats and I don't see why a new sport advancing is bad. I get that low slung boats and big wakes don't mix but it up to the person to be a dick behind the wheel not the sport
-
The worst part about boating is the dumb asses on the New seadoo's doing 360's and crap right in front of the beach your at. F those dudes!

X2 on that shit. I'll be doing more boating on the lower river. Hopefully it will be too shallow for boats like that. Or mid week boating when most of those boats are at home on the trailer.

I have thrown in the towel so many times the boat gets shiny just from terry cloth running across it.
Any more, I am buried by so many projects that it seems I'll never be on the water.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Yeah let's see them make a six foot wave when your in three foot of water. I've been floating hanging on to the boat for a min and then standing walking waist deep on the lower river.that's why I love it there not to many big boats or wake boats

The sport? I don't have a problem with the tsunami generators out there when the water is torn to shit, but they intentionally screw the water up for everyone else when could just as easily stay out of peoples way.
I have wanted to confront these asshats on numerous occasions. Just this last year we had one cruise right by our houseboat close enough that I could see the gauges in the boat... There was NOBODY on the lake, lake Shasta that is. 365 Miles of shoreline and these tools think we want to see what they're doing. Up close.
It is only a "sport" when they are courteous to other boaters.
Just my opinion.

Oh I feel you on that, I was almost ran over up on the Delta by som dude running bow up on the inside corner. Boat hit my ski right as I got my foot out. We also had a skier roost our 2 boats once my dad chased him down jumped on the others guy boat and throw his keys in the water. Respect is a big thing on the water.
We are actually thinking of getting a place lower river we just want to be on the water chill with good people and I gotta get some high speed runs in.

I enjoy polishing VC's and manifolds as well as detailing the boat. I've got far more time into doing maintenance and upgrades than I have actual time in the seat.
I do, however, have more fun (respectfully) riding the Superjet than I do piloting the boat. The boat is fun, but three times a week, the stand up is easier and more fun.

I hear you on that. Love taking my Superjet out on the river at dusk. Plus it's the only time I like rough water lol
