Tires????

What type? Do I have to run trailer only or can I run regular passenger tires. What's a good price range 215/75/14 ? Pretty ironic question coming from someone that grew up in a tire shop.  But that was many many moons ago. Like 40yrs.

I've had good luck with Maxxis M8008 trailer tires.  I found that most places don't carry 14" tires anymore, but can get them in a day or two.

I bought trailer tires at wal mart 130.00 each and I thought that was expensive but I priced regular pass car tires and it was about the same price.  Geez tires have gone up in price since I last bought some.  I got 35x12.5x15 BFG's for my blazer a while back and they were only 130.00 each and that's a lot more rubber than 14"trailer tires. The jerk at wal mart too said since the old tires were trailer that he could only put back on trailer tires so that's why I didn't question then but I would now and next time I will just get pass car tires...my 2 cents  :)

Passenger tires it is!!! I figure I already live in Havasu so the farthest ill be driving is to Blythe in one direction and Laughlin in the other. And it's stored indoors so no need to worry about the sun screwing them up. Thanks guys

Big O blows. Four tires mounted balanced 293.00 out the door at Discount Tires!!!! Big O no stock and didn't want to sell me what I wanted.

passenger tires here.  my only gripe is when i make tight turns it shoots the snap in balancing weights off the tires when they drag.  had to yell at em to use the stick on ones instead.

Passenger tires really should not be used for a trailer tire.2 reasons, Trailer tires usually have a stronger side wall for weight etc. And the load rate .An also make sure to get radials. Just my .02

and you think a 18 foot jet boat is going to exceed the weight rating for the tires he put on there?  nope.  the common car is 3k lbs...

True, but the side walls are in fact to different types of construction. Trailer tires or (st) are made with a thicker side wall to help with uneven weight an when turning in tandem axels or more. If you have single axelb trailer then your open alittle more with options because your restriction on weight, an not have a second axel causing drag with tight turning one again just my .02 hope its understandable lol

BFG's- 215/60r14- 1345 lbs
'trailer tires'- 205/75-14-  1430lbs

I run a triple axle equipment trailer, with truck radials. 12,000 lbs empty, and has been loaded to over 30,000 lbs, on LT235/85R16's
'Trailer tires' might last 20,000 miles, LT radials last 75k+ miles. (Towed with 1 Ton CC Chevy)
Sidewall flex has never been a problem.
Radials on the boats and car flatbed, too.

I'll run trailer tires on my single axle family boat. But as far as my hot rod boat it's plenty light enough to run pass car tires and it rarely has to turn tight. For 290.00$ I couldn't be happier and now this season you'll be seeing all up & down the river. From Jakes at McIntyre to the SCJB meet in Laughlin. Can't wait to meet and hang out with all you guys!!!

One axle trailer I'd spend the dough on good trailer tires for a peace of mind...dual axle trailer you can use regular passenger tires. They'll hold up really well up to 8k lbs.

Stupid Move! Shouldn't have donw that...
